CORNELIU BABA - CHINA

(nov 2018 – aug 2019)

The traveling exhibition dedicated to Corneliu Baba in China was organized in partnership with the Romanian Cultural Institute on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the People's Republic of China and Romania. The exhibitions took place at Quan Shanshi Art Museum in Hangzhou; Jiangxi Provincial Art Museum in Nanchang; Huamao Art Museum in Yinzhou District, Ningbo; Shanghai Dragon Modern Art Center in Baoshan District, Shanghai; Hebei Handan Han Yuchen Art Museum in Congtai District, Handan; Gallery of Chinese Academy of Oil Painting Beijing in Chaoyang District, Beijing.

The exhibition gathered 60 artworks from the most important art museums in Romania, such as the National Art Museum of Romania, Timisoara National Museum of Art, Cluj-Napoca Museum of Art, the National Museum Complex "Moldova" in Iasi, Cotroceni National Museum, Constanța Museum of Art, Gorj County Museum „Alexandru Ștefulescu”, the Visual Art Museum in Galați, Arad Museum of Art, „Gavrilă Simion” Eco-Museum Research Institute in Tulcea, „Aurelian Sacerdoțeanu” Vâlcea County Museum, Drobeta-Turnu Severin Iron Gates Museum of Art, Mureș County Museum, “Vasile Pârvan” Museum Bârlad, Craiova Art Museum, “Vasile Grigore - painter and collector” Museum of Art, Satu Mare County Museum, but also from the most prestigious international art collections, such as the Irina Marin-Cajal collection, the Damian Florea collection, the Mihai Astratinei collection and the collection of the Romanian Commercial Bank.
